squee!!
We’ve booked the flight for myself and the kids! Look out, Maine, here we come!!
Because of the myriad of restrictions surrounding his work visa, Niek will book his ticket later. If he attempts to enter the country too early (according to his visa restrictions) they’ll bounce him back to the Netherlands and all bets are off. So we’re proceeding very carefully on that front. He’ll bring the furbabies with him when he comes.
Can you believe it? In less than 5 weeks, I’ll be on a plane to Maine! I’m so excited I could probably fly there under my own power!

Nooooooooooooo! Less than five weeks? Can you hear me weeping? On the other hand, as I said, be sure to expect me and Pelle on your Maine doorstep.
But I am so, so happy for you, Barbara! How busy you must be. Are you sure you want us to come to you? You’re welcome to have your goodbye S&S at my house, you know!

It’ll be interesting to have something at my house and have the house actually tidy, Annemarie. LOL!
As for you, you’re not exactly laying on the sofa eating bon bons and watching soap operas. How’s the deadline (and your health???!) progressing?

Oh my! Is it that fast already??? We are going to be so sad to loose you hear in Holland but I am glad that you will be back home where you want to be. Are all things arranged now on that end? I hope everything comes together fast for Niek. Time passes so fast and you will all be together quickly.
Hugs ~

This must be like in a dream for you. So different from just going on vacation. I’m sure you are giving up a lot but at the same time you’re gaining so much.

Such wonderful news. I totally understand the mixed feelings thing too, although my move was only 600 miles.
I hope things get settled for Neik and that the pets don’t prove too much for one man and one plane!

Eek; so soon! You will be far from friends like Annemarie, but at least the world is a smaller place these days.
Thanks so much for your nice comment on my blog
; I’m glad you took it as funny (as it was supposed to be; I had slept about 3 hours the night before.)

OK, everybody, let’s meet at my house to start stitching the WELCOME HOME sign! I’m thinking that if we start it now and everybody chips in, we’ll come up with one big enough to cover the entire state of Maine! (With an opening for the plan to land, of course!)
Happy thoughts for a fabulous transition!

Yaaay! I’m so excited for you, and what a fabulous adventure for the kids. When we emigrated to the US (for my job) my husband had to stay behind and wait because of visa paperwork, so we have a deep understanding of what Niek is dealing with. {{hugs}} It will all work out in the end, I’m sure. Even with a last minute scramble for him at the airport (long, funny story there) he did make it here!

I thought I had read every post, but I seem not to
be in the know! What part of Maine will you be living? Have you got a house yet? What about Niek’s job?? I know you will want the children to begin
school and meet new friends.
Wishing you all well and much happiness on your new
move….

I am so happy for you!! So insanely jealous but soooo happy for you!
I know that the next few weeks will be full of mixed emotions, panic, excitement… everything. Big hugs and lots of prayers that things go smoothly. Also fingers crossed for Niek… I get the need for the bureaucracy but sometimes it is SO frustrating when you want to scream that this is a tax paying, hard working individual and not somebody planning to sponge off the government! Best of luck.
