shhh …
For the first time in a number of weeks, we don’t have any obligations today (other than picking Max up this evening). Don’t say it out loud, though, or I’m sure something will come up! Isn’t it tough when life gets so darn busy that you feel like you’re sliding out of control through the days, weeks, and months? We’ve had this syndrome lately and have been discussing ways to minimize the ‘damage’. Anyway, it is glorious to have a few hours totally for ourselves.
This weekend is a primitive quick stitch weekend over at Tanya’s group, so I stitched the Praiseworthy Stitches Tulip Pynkeep freebie using HDF and Belle Soie silks and then finish-finished it as a floss tag – my very first! I was so happy with it that I quickly finished two other pieces (Joyous by Trail Creek Farm, JCS ornament edition 2005) the same way.
All of which started a finish-finishing frenzy that has left my unfinished pile … well, pile-less. Gone. As in, nothin’ there. LOL. I can’t show all of what I did, as it’s mainly intended for gifts and exchanges. When Niek came home last night from an evening out with friends, he really didn’t know what to say about the mess. The funny thing was, I’d cleaned the house while he was gone, but you could no longer tell. LOL!
Yesterday was Max’s diploma swimming exam. He’s had quite the week of it, hasn’t he? We are all so proud of him!
Thanks for your really great comments about him (and Rowen, of course!) in the school play.
For anyone curious about the photos, I splurged on the Picnik upgrade for my Flickr photos.

lovely!!!

Well done, Max!
You too, Barbara. How satisfying to get everything completely finished! Floss tags are such fun. So simple; they are like potoato chips ~ gotta have another!

No finishing pile? I am jealous!
Added by Barbara: It’s just ’cause I’m such a slow stitcher.

Your life is so busy, I can’t comment enough
I wish you made a picture of the mess too, so I’ll feel less guilty when I’m busy with my hobby and it turns the house upsidedown.
But our life sounds the same as yours, so I’m busy cherishing the fun things we can do: lootjes trekken, watch sinterklaas together and so on.
Love the finished finishes! I’m not brave enough to put a ring in my stitching, but it sure looks great. And my pile keeps growing…

I was going to ask about the writing on the photos! I like what you did with Max’s photo! Congrats to him!
Love your little floss ring tags. I haven’t made any of those either. The crow pillow is awesome. I have some sewing and framing to do myself. Darn hobbies! : )

Congratulations, it’s wonderful that he did so well on the swimming exam. The earlier pictures of the play were delightful too, they both looked like they had a lot of fun in their roles.
Sounds like you had quite a day of it, glad things slowed down a bit and you could take a breather and get in some finishing time. The floss ring looked wonderful, as did the pillow. Three crows looks so cute finished.
