someone turned the sunshine on!

It’s actually real summer weather again today. I can hardly believe it. I’m wearing shorts! Hip, hip, hooray!

We spent our morning walking to the supermarket and returning via a detour along a playground. I was surprised that despite the glorious weather, we were the only people in sight. We enjoyed it, and the kids could monopolize all their favorite activities. After lunch, we got busy with our salt dough clay (thanks for the great recipe and idea yesterday in … someone’s blog – my brain is having a flatline moment, sorry!). The kids kindly posed for a picture:

before getting down to business. The art objects are now in the oven and will hopefully all be painted by dinnertime. :)

I finished my first proper cross stitch chart last night using the free download of PC Stitch Pro. It’s a lot faster and better than my usual method of stitching, picking out the places I made mistakes or simply changed my mind, stitching some more, and finally finishing with the nagging doubt in my mind that maybe it would’ve looked better if I’d changed this or tried that. My big question to everyone out there is whether PC Stitch Pro is the program to buy, or whether there’s better software out there. This is strictly for creating charts from scratch, not for converting pictures to charts. I’d appreciate any comments/suggestions you may have. :D

Don’t forget to check in tomorrow for this weekend’s give-away! And don’t forget to stock up at One Star’s Light during Jenna’s sale week – tomorrow is the last day!

I hope everyone is looking forward to a wonderful weekend!!
