wow, that was amazing!
Oh my goodness, you guys! Thanks so much for your enthusiastic reaction to my Etsy shop! My birds have flown off to their new home, where I’m sure they’ll be very happy. A new one is under the needle, but I’m not the fastest stitcher,so I don’t have any photos for you yet. I’m excited – these are so fun for me to make, and I have so many ideas.
Thanks you for the offers of good homes for the Miribilia kit that Becky sent me. Lots of Miribilia fans out there! The kit has been mailed to Helene in Sweden, who was incredibly excited. Apparently it’s something she’s wanted to do for a very long time. Thank you to BeckySC, without whose generosity it wouldn’t have been possible.
Today’s been incredibly muggy – humidity around 100% all day. The day began beautifully, then when I went out to do errands, the deluge began. LOL. Only now is it clearing off again. Rain and humidity for the rest of the week. Ugh. Not my favorite weather, but I guess there’s no help for it.
So my food for thought topic today, as touched on yesterday, is: What effect has the economic climate had on your hobbies? We’re probably all too aware of the national (and international) effects, but how has it hit you personally? Or has it? With the exception of the period around my birthday, I’ve been going almost entirely stash-free as an effort to make our family finances a bit more robust. This has been really, really hard sometimes. I mean, I’m genuinely surprised by how difficult it has been to pass up sales, new releases, impulse buying. On the other hand, I’ve had a chance to really begin enjoying what I already have. I have pretty excellent taste, IMHO.
