I started the final part of my seasonal exchange today … it’ll go out on time, but it sure won’t be going out early! But most of today was tied up with household tasks (laundry – is there never an end to it?) and a family birthday party. The party, for my father in law, was really enjoyable. It put me in mind of when Niek and I first got together – I just loved the frequent family get-togethers. I’ve jokingly accused Niek in the years since then that it was all staged just to suck me in. But today was like old times (or old times for me!) and it was difficult to leave even though we had to get the kids into bed and feed Arden.

I have no stitching to show you, but here are some goofy tests I took to waste time. Oh, and Patti tagged me for the 7 facts thingie going around, which I did a few days ago. I won’t subject you to yet another 7 things about me. ;)

Your Superpower Should Be Manipulating Electricity

You’re highly reactive, energetic, and super charged.
If the occasion calls for it, you can go from 0 to 60 in a split second.
But you don’t harness your energy unless you truly need to.
And because of this, people are often surprised by what you are capable of.Why you would be a good superhero: You have the stamina to fight enemies for days

Your biggest problem as a superhero: As with your normal life, people would continue to underestimate you

You Are Somewhat Virtuous

You are occasionally a good person, but you often stop short at doing the right thing.
It’s just a lot easier (and more fun) to be bad! You do have a reputation to uphold.

Deep down, you’re a fairly good person. But no one’s perfect.
You’re just a lot less perfect than most people!

Where You Are Virtuous

You have the virtue of Justice. You treat other people fairly, even when you don’t feel like it.

You have the virtue of Order. You let each thing have it’s place, and you keep your life in order.

You have the virtue of Resolution. You are determined to do what you should, no matter how difficult it is.

Where You Are Not Virtuous

You lack the virtue of Cleanliness. You are quite messy… and maybe even a little dirty.

You lack the virtue of Moderation. You are attracted to extremes of all sorts.

You lack the virtue of tranquillity. Your life tends to be eventful and dramatic.

Glad you had a nice family gathering. I guess Niek feels a bit stronger too.
I got the same superhero power as you!

I should have the power of mindreading. I think they’re quite right; I should. We share the virtues of justice and {lack of } cleanliness. I think everyone must come out “somewhat virtuous.”

    Hi Barbara

Thank you so much for your really kind and comforting words in my blog!! You are such a nice person and it means so much to me to have such friend!! I just love the stitching at the top of your blog! I would imagine that you stitched it and I love the colors. Do you mind telling me what pattern that is? It is just gorgeous!! Your whole blog is beautiful and your pictures of your children are just precious!! I got the rest of the thread today so that has been nice and I am looking forward to doing more on my project! Please come back in and see me!! Hugs Debby :)

Added by Barbara: Oh my goodness, Debby, you’ve made me blush! The design shown is part of “Hearts and Flowers” by Carriage House Samplings. I’ve done it in my own choice of silks – the original calls for a very different color scheme. It’s a gorgeous pattern and Kathy of CHS is one of my favorite designers. :)
