… but not having too much success with either!
Rowen’s decided to take up permanent residence on my lap now that her lifelong playmate has abandoned her for the halls of higher learning. LOL. Nah, really, Rowen is doing quite well at adjusting to Nicky’s absence, but she is much more possessive of me. Which means I get very little time without her on my lap or hanging off my leg. Both are difficult stitching positions, as you can see.
And I’m so glad that the acupuncture treatments have helped with the painfully cold fingers and toes I’ve suffered from for the past year or so, because the weather outside truly is frightful. It’s not terribly cold, but the wind and rain make me feel cold through & through. I’m also thankful that my father bought me a daylight lamp, because as you can see, our surroundings are anything but gay & bright. The town is redoing all the roads, paths, and common areas in our neighborhood and it currently looks like someone blew up a dump truck or something. Yuck.

Despite the cold and my ‘Rowen extension’ I have managed to get something done on Su’s NRR (mine’s the upper left corner). I had hoped to post it today, but it will go out tomorrow. I have a bit more to finish up where it approaches Carol’s block, but not too much. This is a house from The Village of Hawk Run Hollow by my heroine, Kathy Barrick-Dieter, with only a bit of modification to the right side to prevent it from seeming far too large beside Carol’s sweet little PS block. I’ve jokingly told Niek that it’s the perfect house for our large family to move into.

Rigby doesn’t like our weather either, and has adopted a decidedly hangdog look. He misses his long, frequent walks. But neither of us really likes getting wet and muddy, so we’ll just have to keep making do the best we can.
To cheer myself up, I just had to indulge in the Examplars From The Heart Needle Charmer chart and silks being offered by Vikki at Hand Dyed Fibers. I’ve been drooling over this since I first saw it and it is a limited edition and … well, my finger just hit that Confirm button without even listening to my brain.
Dianne, to answer your question, yes all my old Blogger photos seem to have very suddenly disappeared. Grrr.
Glad that the accupuncture is helping, it cleared my carpel tunnel right up this year, so I’m a big convert now. I hope you get some stitching time soon.

On the bright side Rigby hasn’t become an extension as well
It’s pretty miserable here as well -20-25 celcius and windchill warnings. Walking, hah. I’m with you. If I didn’t have to walk a block from my car to work I definitely wouldn’t, let alone voluntary walks

It definitely looks like inside weather, when you just want to bundle up and stay warm with some stitching. Although it looks like you have a very cute hot water bottle (Rowen) to keep you warm. I remember those days with a sweet little one to cuddle with.

What a beautiful picture of you and Rowen - you do have the same eyes, don’t you!
I love your addition to Su’s RR.
It’s very, very windy here, but still incredibly mild - no need to put the heater on!

Regarding the pictures - I almost switched to WordPress, but I read in their FAQs that they didn’t transfer picutres from Blogger, which is (part of) why I didn’t switch. I think you could still see your pictures for a while because they were hotlinked from Blogger - but Blogger doesn’t like hotlinking, which is why you can’t see them now.
Maybe someone created a plugin for it though!

Aha, thanks for the explanation, Isabelle. I really must learn to read all the fine print… Luckily I have the pictures on my harddrive, so some day when I have nothing to do, I can go back through and stick them in. LOL!

Hey! I have just such an extension at home here, only it’s a he, and he’s called Pelle! I can’t believe how much Rowen’s grown! I thought I’d done all my shopping yesterday, so I didn’t have to go out in this hellish weather, but what do you know… Forgot the most important part of our dinner! Good luck with your extension, and with the surly doggie!

OH gosh, time to teach Rowen a craft so she will get off your lap - LOL!! Poor Rigby… I feel that way today too. Angus is at the vet right now (8AM appt - I have no idea how they talked Mike into such an early appt - I can never get him out that early) and is hopefully getting his stitches out. We had to lift the food last night in case he needs to be sedated for this process. Poor guy - Mike corralled him into his carrier, and then feed the other cats while Angus watched - my poor baby
I love your house on Su’s RR!!!! I will trade your rain for our ice (and snow coming tomorrow).

The RR piece you’re working on looks great. Rowen is adorable.

Thank you so much for your condolences Barbara, they meant so much to me. How did I ever survive in life without this warm & caring community. I am so very grateful to be a part of it.
Oh my, it does look blustery there, and here I am complaining about the temps here in Vegas. I should be ashamed of myself as at least the sun is shining.
What an adorable picture of you & Rowen. Does she also keep on asking “When will Nicky be home?” I remember this well.

Glad acupuncture is helping you. It’s so cold that any relief is great. Rigby doesn’t like the cold too well… Neither do my parents or brother’s dogs. My sister’s dog loves it outside when it’s cold and loves to play in the mud! Much to her dismay! Your WIP is looking great!

Rowen looks like a Barbara ‘mini me’ in your photo which is just too cute. I hope she gets the stitching bug sometime down the road. I believe I started when I was around 12, but there are those kiddie kits with the big plastic bunt nose needles too. : ) I’ll have to see if they have them around her. Her eye-hand coordination has to develop a bit I’m sure.
The weather is yucky here too. We were going to get ’slush’, but it will be above freezing, so it looks more like rain.
The NRR is shaping up nicely. Good job there. I’d like a big house too.
I think if you set your wordpress blog to use ‘Snap’, you can at least click on the ‘x’s and see the original photo in a pop up box.

Enjoy your little appendage, Barbara! I have a feeling she’ll adjust to the new situation soon and not need to be quite so close. She may need to know exactly where you are every second tho. My youngest was like that.
I’ll wish for warmer weather for you if you do the same for me - it’s snowing again!

Love the RR! Great choice it is a beautiful house.
I can relate about the weather blues, it’s miserable here as well and I can’t wait for it to pass. Hopefully you will be out and walking again soon.

Aha, that will explain my photo issues too! The photo of you and Rowen is TOO cute! I love it
Sorry to hear the weather is so miserable, but then again it’s much more conducive to stitching all cuddled up … I’d give anything to run around in that freezing temperature for a few days, as the heat is unbearable here at the moment. Wanna do a house swap for a few days? LOL. Your NRR is looking great

BAD clicky finger.
It’s a lovely slip, though. LOL
